Not his pictured, but is has the same wheels. His is a 2013 Golf R four-door, red, VMR wheels, APR Stage 2+, fully loaded. Absolutely amazing car, and made my GTI feel slow. If I didn't want an R before, I sure as hell do now.

The only thing that might be as cool would be a 4motion GTD, if those actually make it over here. We'll see.

I hope your buddy knows that his power train warranty just went *POOF* with that Stage 2 tune... I speak from experience.

I managed to keep my warranty with having PCM's...

One for the dealer, one for me. lol

They never suspected anything.

They would always scan my car because they knew it was taken to the track, they saw the time slips in my glove box once and asked me how the hell I managed low 's on a "stock" tune.

I just told them I know how to drive.

How did you manage to dodge the scanners? VAG are nazis with checking for that shit. Mine got popped with a TD1 even AFTER I flashed back to stock before going to the dealer. Somehow, they just knew.

This was not a VAG.

Chevy.

But they are Nazi's as well.

My secret was two totally seperate PCM's.

One stock, no tune, no nothing.

The other was a balls out 38psi boosted tune.

On the tuned PCM I wrote BATSHITCRAZY so I knew what one was what.

It was fun while it lasted lol.

Someone who borrowed the car put some 87 in it and killed that engine..... -.-

After I explicitly said "Put 93 octane in it from Mobil or Shell, no shit stations"

I assume that you promptly removed one or two testicles? Also, what kind of friends do you have that don't know that you need to use primo ESPECIALLY IF YOU FUCKING TOLD THEM TO.

Did he pay for the engine?

My R has just crossed the 36,000 mile warranty period, but before it did I took my tuned Golf R to the shop several times for service, never had issues.

He didn't pay for the engine.

But quickly understood what its liked to be punched in the fucking chest by someone who can effortlessly curl 90lbs with one arm.....

Lol, Jeebus. Still seems like he got off light. Was it a Cobalt SS?

Yeah, it was my SS.

New engine in it now, and I'm picky about who drives it....lol

Not sure if that's been an issue yet or not; I'll have to remember to ask though.

I'm going stage 2 and a borla on my GTI next summer once I have money again, probably. Depends on if I can sell it to my wife, haha.

Shit, how much did that set you back to fix it? What blew on it?

Blew the ringlands out.

And just the engine itself was around 4 grand

It's out of a 2012 Opel Astra OPC.

I did a lot of work to ensure I would not kill another engine and that the drivetrain was ready.
